For those that live in and around the Magdalen Estate area, being such a civilised and homely community that it is, dealing with tricky neighbours is a very rarely something that has to be considered. Some other Wandsworth residents, however, are dealing with serious problems in this area.
Cabinet member for housing, Guy Senior, has said that new powers are set to be handed down by the Government, which could prove invaluable to dealing with housing estate tenants that cause distress and fear to those living around them, by initiating swift and form acting on the offending parties. The changes being proposed include the cutting short of the lengthy process that victims must go through in order to charge neighbours with anti-social behaviour; in future, those causing the problems may face automatic grounds for eviction. Not only this, but those pressing the charges may also be saved the traumatic ordeal of facing their problem neighbours in court.
