Volunteer Around the Magdalen Estate

volunteer to help young people around the magdalen estateVolunteering: it’s a great way to find new friends with whom you already have something in common, make a difference to your local community, and to learn new skills whilst being exposed to something which you may have never experienced previously. Across Wandsworth, including the areas around the Magdalen Estate there are several organisations that rely on the generosity of locals giving up their time for free, so that the lives of others can be bettered, and arts projects can continue to run.
Battersea Arts Centre, just up the road from Clapham Junction station, is one of the most influential and exciting arts venues in London, and is always looking for people of all ages to help run the front of house proceedings on performance nights. Ushers get to see the show for free, and work is often followed by a few friendly drinks in the bar.
If you’re more interested in working with young people, there are youth clubs all over Wandsworth that rely on enthusiastic and energetic individuals giving up their time to make the experiences of others really something special. If this sounds like something you might be interested in, have a look at the Wandsworth Council website, or enquire at your local youth club or centre.
If you’re already a volunteer at a great place that’s near to the Magdalen Estate, let us know, and we can spread the word to other people who also want to make a difference. We look forward to hearing from you!
