Since a water pipe burst on Wandsworth High Street on Tuesday of this week, owing to the recent cold conditions, there have been massive delays and build-ups of traffic on a busy stretch of the A3 in the westbound direction by Garratt Lane. Although Thames water made every effort to fix the problem as quickly as possible, and sent engineers to the site immediately, two lanes were closed at the time, and have remained closed since. Poor weather conditions have held up repair work, but a spokeswoman for Thames Water said that they hope to have things back to normal by Friday.
People who drive around Wandsworth, including nearby the Magdalen Estate, on a regular basis have been warned that this is probably not the last time they’ll face this problem over the next few months. The unpredictable and brutal nature of the ‘Big Freeze’ is set to cause more havoc up and down the country, including in our capital city.
If you’ve got any useful traffic, road works or travel information that you think would be really handy for the residents of the Magdalen Estate, then please do let us know, and we’ll share it with our blog readers. We look forward to hearing from you!Google+
