Between January 17th and 21st, people studying in Wandsworth and around the Magdalen Estate had the opportunity to enhance their understanding and appreciation of other cultures during activities and informative sessions taking place as part of Multi-Faith week.
Students at South Thames College were involved in number of different things, with the main event of the week being an open fair taking place across the College’s two main campuses in Wandsworth and Merton, at which stalls were run by expert religious representatives from faiths such as Judaism, Christianity and Islam. It was the resident enrichment team who were responsible for organising the event, and commented that the students showed considerable interest in being educated in religious differences, as well as recognising the week as being forward-thinking and an epicentre for the growth of modern ideas. Stallholders at the fair added that they were not there to build barriers or to create competition between each other, but instead wanted to allow the students to make informed decisions about their own beliefs.
If you know of any cultural and community events taking place in and around the Magdalen Estate area, please do get in touch, and we’ll be happy to feature your story in our blog. We look forward to hearing from you.Google+
