Even with Christmas and New Year over and done with, and moods in and around The Magdalen Estate possibly feeling a bit low, there is no better way to pass the time than to get your family and friends involved in some theatre-going. This festive season, you don’t have to travel far afield to get your comedy/musical fix, as the Magdalene Players, based in St Mary Magdalene church hall on Trinity Road, will be presenting their 31st annual pantomime, which will run from the 3rd to the 5th of February. ‘Once Upon a Rhyme’, adapted by long-standing Players’ members Daniel Hewitt and David Ashton, promised to be a fun-filled, song-packed comedy extravaganza, guaranteed to put a smile on the face of even the most dedicated Scrooge. And the best bit? It’s a stone-throw away from your front door.
If you feel inspired post-show to join in, the Magdalene Players are always keen for potential new members to make themselves known, so don’t be shy and give yourself the chance to shine.
If you know of any great local events or activities that you think would be useful for us to write about in our blog, so other Magdalen Estate residents can take full advantage of them, please do get in touch- we love hearing your suggestions!Google+
