Extreme Sports around the Magdalen Estate

learn to ski near the Magdalen EstateWith so many families around the Magdalen Estate area, chances are that if you’re a local, you’ll have one of your own, and with it some excitable children looking for thrilling ways in which to burn off their inexhaustible supply of energy.
Not too far away from your front door are places in which this can happen, and at which it is usually perfectly safe to leave them for a few minutes whilst you pop off for a much-deserved tea break….
Brixton Skate Park, just a short walk from the underground station, offers a variety of outdoor ramps, rails and other exciting skating obstacles, perfect for every skateboard or blades owner, from rookies to veterans. There’s a real sense of comradeship here too, with the older children keeping an eye out for the newbies.
If skiing is more your thing, Crystal Palace Park boasts a dry ski slope, at which full ski hire is available. We recommend wrapping up warm/layering up, though, as falling on the tiny plastic bristles can be sore! It’s the perfect place to get your ski legs in gear without having to travel to the snow.
