Let’s face it, sometimes there’s nothing better than leaving the kids in the capable hands of a trusted babysitter, getting out the house for a night with your significant other/best girl friends/the lads, and seeing all the great (and often inexpensive) entertainment that the Magdalen Estate and surrounding areas have to offer.
Venturing into Balham- either a 25 minute walk or one stop on the train from Wandsworth Common, the nearest station to the Magdalen Estate– is often a good idea. The Bedford pub hosts an array of comedy and music nights to suit everyone’s taste; their website has full, up-to date details of the acts that will be performing on a week-to-week basis.
For a spectacular venue that is cosy yet grand, the Tooting Tram and Social offers high bricked walls, chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, and comfy armchairs to relax in. A DJ plays regularly, and there is plenty of space to dance your socks off, if you so desire. It’s also available for hire, and is a great place to get your friends together for any kind of celebration.
If all that entertainment makes you hungry, an authentic taste of Italy- again, at a very reasonable price- can be had at Pizza Metro on Battersea Rise. Don’t wait too late though, as there is no way of booking, and it fills up fast.
Why not share your own great-night-out venues with us, so we can encourage others to enjoy them too. We look forward to hearing from you!Google+
